How to Make the Witches Hats (Halloween Freebie)
You will receive a PDF document containing two A4/Letter-sized sheets—ready for printing and cutting out—with templates for three sizes of halloween witches hats (large, medium, and small) that will look like this:
Print the pages. Then follow the instructions below.
(Approximate size of finished hats: L 14.5 x 13.5 cm / M 11.5 x 10.5 cm / S 7.5 x 6.5 cm)
You will need: scissors, glue, black cardstock, a pencil to trace the template, (optional: string for tying or hanging).
Carefully cut out the shapes along their outlines, including the white circles inside and the lines on the edge of the cone.
Use them as templates to trace and cut the shapes out of black cardstock.
Glue the long gray strip underneath the opposite side to form the cone.
(If you want to hang the hats as decorations: At this step, you can also glue a loop of string—knotted at the ends—to the tip of the cone to serve as a hanger.)
Slide the circle over the cone to form the hat's brim.
Fold the small gray squares along the dotted lines, as shown in the template.
Glue the gray strips underneath the circle to secure the hat.
(If you want to tie the hats under the dolls' chins: At this step, you can glue two pieces of string to opposite sides.)
This is what the hats look like when worn. 🧙
You can see them up close here. 🎃🔮💀😼
